Update economic impact SABMiller in Europe 2011 (ENG)

Regioplan and Ernst & Young jointly conducted a study on the economic impact of SABMiller in ten European countries. The study is an update of a report published in 2009. In addition to countries in the European Union the report also pays attention to the effects of its Russian operations. Due to various reasons such as the economic downturn, the economic impact of SABMiller declined slightly compared to 2009 when the study was conducted for the first time. However, with a total employment effect of 202,000 jobs the importance of this brewery for the European economy remained significant. In addition to economic effects, the study also pays attention to corporate responsibility and the importance of SABMiller breweries for suppliers in the regions in which they are located.
